Securities America Welcomes Back Merz
Merz joined Securities America in 2006 as part of Prospera Wealth Management. He left the broker-dealer after Prospera was acquired in 2010 by a larger regional group.
"I'm very happy and excited to be back with Securities America," said Merz, who started in the industry with Smith Barney 16 years ago. "Before leaving I was utilizing the Managed Opportunities platform, and I recently reached a point in my career where I want to offer my clients what I consider to be one of the best managed money platforms available. I look forward to offering excellent client service and investment products to my clients thanks to the best-in-class service and products available from Securities America."
Prior to his return to Securities America in January, Merz managed $84 million in client assets that generated more than $780,000 in annual revenue.
"We are proud to welcome Paul Merz back to the Securities America family," said Gregg Johnson, senior vice president of branch office development and acquisitions. "Paul is our fifth top advisor to return to Securities America in the past six months, and the reason we hear most often from these advisors is their desire to 'come home.' Our culture values relationships, so we keep in touch with our advisors - current and former - to see how they're doing and how we can help them. Advisors appreciate how Securities America continues to grow while staying true to that relationship culture. We're seeing a trend with advisors who left us for whatever reason, find they miss those relationships and decide they want to be part of that culture again."
Merz holds Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses and variable life and annuities licenses, and is a Certified Financial Planner®. For more information about Paul Merz, located in Yakima, Wash., or the wide range of financial products and services he provides, call (509) 895-7935.
