Securities America Succession Director Receives Exit Planner Certification
LA VISTA, Neb. – March 17, 2015 – Independent broker-dealer Securities America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS), announced that Roger Verboon, director of succession, continuity and acquisition planning, has received the Certified Exit Planner designation from the Business Enterprise Institute.
“Securities America has been a leader in assisting advisors with protecting their business with succession and continuity plans, and growing their business through acquisitions,” said Kirk Hulett, Securities America executive vice president of strategy and practice management. “We’re proud that Roger has supplemented his decades of business management and consulting experience with this certification in exit planning.”
The CExP™ requires more than 100 hours of live and online initial training course and 30 hours of real-world exit plan creation case work, all of which must be completed within 120 days. After completing all of the course work required for the CExP™ designation and receiving approval from the CExP™ Board of Standards, BEI Certified Exit Planners are required to complete 30 biennial continuing education hours to maintain their CExP™ designation.
Verboon, who joined Securities America in 1996, has assisted the independent broker-dealer’s advisors in 89 full and partial acquisition deals totaling more than $2 billion in assets since 2009. He holds a bachelor’s in business and management from the University of Maryland and holds Series 7 and 24 licenses. Prior to joining the company’s Practice Management Group in 2003, Verboon managed the company’s customer service call center. His background includes starting and operating multiple businesses.
