LA VISTA, Neb. – Jan. 12, 2015 – Securities America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS), has promoted two employees to officer positions.
Teri Heim was promoted to first vice president, business growth programs. Heim joined Securities America in 1991 and is responsible for developing and marketing business growth programs to the company’s independent financial advisors. She also wrote several of the company’s practice management and business development guides.
Heim was previously the director of training and has worked in the company’s Operations, Trading and Sales Supervision departments. She earned a bachelor’s degree in finance and management from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree in adult learning, development and performance from Drake University. She is certified from the Crosby Institute as a master quality facilitator and trainer.
Brian Strasser was promoted to first vice president, transition. Strasser joined Securities America in 2013 as a director in Branch Office Development, where he focused on advisor transition. He began his career in 1994 at TD Ameritrade working in the Mutual Fund Department before transitioning to Correspondent Services.
Strasser also worked for Kirkpatrick Pettis, a regional broker-dealer, where he helped launch the Advisor Services Department. He holds a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from the University of Nebraska Omaha
