Securities America Named to 2013 InformationWeek 500 List of Top Technology Innovators
SAN FRANSISCO – Sept. 11, 2013 – Independent broker-dealer Securities America, a wholly owned subsidiary of Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. (NYSE MKT: LTS), has been named to this year’s InformationWeek 500 – a list of the top technology innovators in the U.S. – for its advisor workstation Dashboard 2.0. This is the second award for Securities America’s Dashboard 2.0, which received the Technology Innovation Award from the Bank Insurance & Securities Association (BISA) earlier this year.
“Securities America believes strongly in investing our technology dollars primarily in applications and platforms that make it easier for our financial advisors to do business with us and with their clients,” said Jim Nagengast, CEO and president of Securities America. “Dashboard 2.0 enables our advisors and their staff to access information faster, making them more efficient and giving them the ability to work with more clients and more assets.”
Securities America’s advisor workstation provides its financial advisors and their assistants access to trading, supervision, image retrieval, new account processing, account servicing, financial planning, performance reporting and many more features. Advisors or their staff often need to draw information from several of those sources to answer client questions.
To improve the overall experience for financial advisors and their assistants and allow them to provide better service for their clients, Securities America worked with Information Builders to create Dashboard 2.0. This solution centralizes client, branch, and advisor information from various applications and platforms in an easy-to-read and dynamically updated format. Using customizable views and widgets that can be added, removed, re-arranged and manipulated within the views, Dashboard 2.0 allows each member of the advisor’s team to arrange and save the location of the information he or she uses most frequently.
“What used to take minutes is now displayed within seconds in a way that makes the advisor more efficient and effective, whether dealing with clients, identifying the practice’s most profitable clients, or analyzing production for a group of advisors,” said Doreen Griffith, executive vice president and chief information officer.
