Securities America Awards Scholarship
Stehr, 24, graduated from Creighton University with a master's degree in negotiation and dispute resolution, and summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in history. During his time at Creighton, he spent eight semesters on the dean's list, received the Superior Scholastic Achievement Citation in 2007 and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha and Phi Alpha Theta. Stehr said a business education from the University of Nebraska Omaha will lay the groundwork for a long and successful career in financial services.
"I feel very fortunate to have been awarded the scholarship from Securities America," Stehr said. "I hope to be an excellent representative for Securities America on campus and in the classroom at UNO."
The Securities America scholarship provides a $3,000 cash award and the opportunity to participate in an internship with the company. Selection is based on grade point average, with a 3.0 minimum, leadership skills, oral communication skills and accomplishments through undergraduate training and other experiences.
Stehr began his internship for Securities America in the Practice Management Department in September and will remain with the company until May 2011.
